    Description

    Staffordshire child’s plate (just over 5 ½” in diameter) with a transfer design in gray, early to mid 19
    th
    century. No maker identified. The little plate has an embossed edge featuring perhaps berries and leaves. The transfer design has a boy or young man sailing a toy boat on a pond as a young woman watches. They’re under a tree, and there’s a large house or castle visible in the distance. This may have been intended as a reward of merit or gift for a child. The plate is in good or better condition with no chips, cracks, or significant flaws. There is some light crazing throughout.
