Description

Zuni Maxx Laate carved this double bear fetish from Boulder Opal.  The carving consists of a larger bear, perhaps mama, and a smaller bear on her right side.  The back of each bear is a lighter shade of brown with darker brown striations on the back of each.  It appears that mama bear is resting while her cub is ready to be off exploring.  Each has inlaid turquoise cabochon eyes. This piece of Boulder opal is from Australia and is a piece of Boulder opal that I purchased for Maxx to carve. This carving is 1 5/8" long
, 3/4" tall and 1 1/2" wide.
A bear is an animal of strength and introspection.  A bear has the power of the soul.
Maxx signed the bottom of the base with his hallmark, his first name.
