    Description

    Here's a super WAHL oversized pen from about 1928. From the 1928 catalog this is model #766AZRC,   "Grecian Border Design engine-turned on barrels.. Oversize barrel, yellow gold-filled roller clip, bands and filling lever, No.6 nib." The big pen is 5-9/16" long and with a barrel diameter at the cap opening of .515."  Gold filled trim is very good with just one tiny spot of brassing on the lower cap ring. The pen is a lever filler and will need a new sac and probably a new J-bar before it will take up ink. The hard rubber is toned and shows significant wear to the chasing. Marked WAHL MADE IN USA just below the upper cap ring and WAHL PEN on the roller clip. Feed is flawless, but the section has an encircling band of tool or gripper marks at the neck of the section, last photo. These are not especially heavy and have not be touched before, and could be significantly improved by buffing or sanding.  The big WAHL, 14K, 6 nib has nail-like firmness,  is a FINE, straight, good iridium and is very clean.
